What to do and expect in the hospital during childbirth

It sounded so easy, such a fun, when we heard about others having babies. In practice, it is difficult, and of course stressful, we admit. However, it is as exciting as it gets and worth every bit of stress. We thought we would use an infographic representation of what to do during the three-days stay at the hospital. This is based on our experience when our son was born a few years back. We hope that the information we are providing will be helpful to others. Please do not hesitate to leave a comment if you have any question or if you have additional pieces of information that may help others. We adore comments; We will try our best to respond even if you just say “hi” as your comment.

We are pretty sure every family has their own experiences. We would love to hear those along with any additional information.

  1. I happened to be the eldest in a family of four and dad would always tell me how scared he was when I was delivered by my mom, but the good thing was that the delivery didn’t have complications which made him felt relaxed afterwards. The 3-day stay at the hospital is necessary as we for it will give the doctor some time to ensure that the baby and the mom are in good condition before they leave for the house.

  2. I like this post so much 🙂 really helpful to those first time mommies and daddies 🙂 better to read this post. Remember a time my husband told me that he bought a pack of diaper and baby wipes at a local mart but he was really unsure about the brand and the diaper size. haha.. Seeing his face with a bit uncertainty might knowing I will get mad at him. Really loved that guy! 🙂

  3. About 6 months ago, as I waited to hear the birth of the baby, the doctor suddenly came out of the delivery ward and announced that there can be no normal delivery and wide needs C section. You can imagine how I felt.
    I realaly liked your infographics.

    1. C section sounds panicking but safety of mom and the baby is all that matters. Hugs ? for the six month old. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.

  4. I was busy enough in those three days when my wife stayed in the hospital, As you mentioned there I had to go to the City Hall and register the birth, the name of my son and get a birth certificate, I had to buy Pampers, milk, and a few stuff that my wife needed in the hospital.
There are a lot of things to do, and I think these three days are passing very fast!

    1. Oh, yes. Plenty to do at father’s side as you mentioned. Feeding the baby is also a (scary) struggle for the dad if mom goes through a C-section. Definitely, those three days are very fast. Thank you for your comment.

  5. Thank you dear friend, Natalia . We are glad to see that you went over another post in this series and liked it. 🙂 Best wishes for you and your family.
